A rather rebellious mix for a foot-stomping , messy art session.

featuring Feed the Machine by Poor Man's Poison

This is a little soundtrack for the season I’ve been stuck in. That strange mix of overwhelm and dullness that comes from keeping your head down in the grind for too long. The feeling of moving through days that all look the same, while everything around you somehow feels too loud.

These songs have helped me find some rhythm in the monotony. A steady beat, and some soulful lyrics that keep me marching forward, step by step, hoping for that moment where the fog lifts.

I hope it brings some vibrancy into your life. Enjoy!

Pick up a paintbrush, get out some scraps of paper and get ready for "Humdrum."

  1. Enjoyed this .. angsty and protesty and anthemy…
Lots of new stuff ( to me) and yay, a favorite: ( Feed the Machine) .
… And was that a mad kazoo solo I heard in the mix? Won’t mark the spot and spoil the surprise.
    Nice cover human. !

    • Feed the Machine, yes! That one resonated for me too. Haven’t found the kazoo solo yet, but now I’ve got an Easter egg to look out for 🙂

  2. This is an exquisitely compiled protest mix, lyrically brilliant! Quite the reflection on society, actually, with the first half feeling like an internal narrative of the effects of societies ills, with the 2nd feeling more of an outward protest anthem. Especially when it gets to Poor Man’s Poison and Ren tracks. Yoh, that “Money Game” track is some songwriting genius right there.

Also, happily, one result of this mix is my algorithm showing me some stuff I generally wouldn’t listen to. For example, Amelie Farren showing up a few times now … with her highly provocative lyrics. Thanks Cat, enjoyed expanding my horizons a bit with this one.
