An rhythmic , vulnerable & provocative travelling mix.

featuring Turn Your Love by Half Moon Run

This mix is a reflection. A reflection of a time in which I needed to use the practice of reflection to pull me out of a long dark winter. And lawd am I glad that I did. Its title refers to a feature track, and words, by Nick Mulvey (a previous Jimmy Mix discovery, thanks Lex) that describes so wonderfully what I needed to do; to have “the courage to feel it all” … and then understand it.

From there, it’s a glorious journey of lyrics and sounds that talk to a glimmering process of healing. There are familiars, like Michael Kiwanuka and Angie McMahon. And new finds like the youthful Australian (then German) outfit, Parcels, and the unspeakably groovy Orgone. All of this before winding down with some sweet melodic rock and ending with a skillfully emotional narrative on collective resilience and the failings of late-stage capitalism, by Kae Tempest. So yeah, it probably can’t be considered a light mix, but there is gleaming light within it, I promise.

Now grab your sunnies , put on your leak proof, electrolyte-filled water bottle and get ready for "“The Courage To Feel It All”."

    • I does, indeed. Helped me a lot this year 🙂

Hope you enjoyed your first listen through of my lil album Lynds. I haven’t had a chance to give good listens to any of ’em yet. I find I only really get to HEAR each of the albums Jimmy Mixers share after a few listens. Looking forward to a good summer roadtrip this December, and having them all as good company along the way.
