What started as a bunch of high school mates burning CDs and trading carefully curated playlists has grown through continents, decades, and technologies into something beautifully unique:

The Jimmy Mix

Part music-sharing ritual, part creative challenge, part nostalgic art form, it’s an annual mixtape extravaganza that connects friends old and new through one thing we all deeply love: music that moves us.

From cassette tapes to streaming links, the essence remains the same. We share the tracks that shaped our year, the ones that soothed, stirred, surprised or defined us. In doing so, we create something bigger than any one playlist: a sprawling and diverse sonic anthology that captures a slice of human experience.

So, how does it work?

1. You create a mix (within the stipulations and guidelines). A musical journey you feel excited to share.
2. You give it a name, some album art, and a short reflection about what the mix means to you.
3. You upload it using ADD MIX.
4. Throughout the year, you listen to everyone else’s mixes over a few months of sweet exploration.
5. You vote for your favourites, and give some appreciation to those that resonated with you.
6. We tally the scores and celebrate.

There are no prizes. Just pride, play, and connection.

Some say it’s a competition. Others say it’s a secret society. We just say it’s “The Jimmy Mix”.
